About Bambi's

Welcome to Bambi’s – where two best friends turn passion into purpose, one bamboo fork, spoon, or knife at a time. We’re two fresh-out-of-high-school New Yorkers with an ambitious dream. Armed with youthful creativity (and maybe a few too many late-night brainstorming sessions), we set out to tackle a big problem: plastic waste. What started as a lightbulb moment in a distant bamboo forest has grown into a mission to change how the world eats – with style, sustainability, and a smile.


Our Story: From Kyoto to Kitchen Tables

It all began on a mid-year high school trip, wandering through the serene bamboo groves of Kyoto. Amid towering green stalks, inspiration struck. One of our founders, Jonathan, recalled his uncle mentioning a bamboo toothbrush as an eco-friendly swap for plastic. Standing there in that tranquil forest, he wondered, “What other plastic stuff could we replace with bamboo? Fast forward a few hours to dinner – plastic fork in hand, idea buzzing in mind – and the concept for Bambi’s was born. We knew we had something special: a simple idea with the potential to make a huge difference.

Back home in NYC, Jonathan teamed up with his childhood friend (and now co-founder), Victor. Together, we turned a spark of inspiration into a real plan. Starting a company at 17 was no easy feat. We were still doing homework and college applications by day, and sketching product designs by night. Our first “office” was a bedroom floor scattered with bamboo samples and doodles of logos. There were late nights and early mornings, tons of Google searches, and more than a little trial and error. We got advice from mentors and learned the rest from the internet’s finest teacher – YouTube. Every setback was a lesson, every small win fueled our unmatched drive even more. And through it all, our friendship kept us going – when one of us felt like giving up, the other was there with a pep talk.

The best part? We weren’t alone in this journey. Our family, friends, and community rallied behind two teenagers with a crazy idea. Classmates volunteered to test out our utensils at lunch. Teachers gave us high-fives for initiative. We even landed a feature in the local newspaper. The outpouring of support was both humbling and exhilarating. It made us realize Bambi’s was more than a business – it was a movement. With our community cheering us on, we officially launched Bambi’s in the summer of 2025, determined to bring sustainable dining to kitchen tables everywhere.
